Wolves swept by Panola College

WESSON – The Panola College Ponies (6-1) took two games from the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves (0-4) baseball team Friday night on Sullivan Field. Panola staged a late rally to steal game one, 5-4, and rode that momentum into a 9-1 victory in a second game that was shortened due to rain.

Lady Wolves surge past East Central

WESSON – After facing a five-point deficit at halftime, the Co-Lin Lady Wolves (14-7, 7-5) used a 12-0 run to take the lead and control in a 73-66 victory over East Central (8-12, 3-9) in Wesson on Thursday night. The Lady Wolves, winners of three straight, shot 28 percent from the floor in the first half and found themselves trailing 37-32 at the break. Co-Lin freshman guard Claresa Banks provided six of the 12 points during the pivotal Lady Wolves run. Banks, a Forest Hill alum, finished with 19 points, 22 rebounds, and four blocks. Banks is averaging 23.2 points and 11 rebounds through her last four games.

Lady Wolves muscle past Meridian

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Lady Wolves (13-7, 6-5) played a physical brand of basketball in the second half on Monday night and knocked off the Meridian Lady Eagles (16-4, 8-3), 75-64, in Wesson. Co-Lin lost, 76-66, at Meridian on Jan. 16.

The Lady Wolves rode the hot hand of freshman guard Claresa Banks early and often through the game. Banks started the game off by scoring eight straight points and finished with 23. The Forest Hill product is averaging 25 points in her last three games.
