Lady Wolves rally falls short at Jones County

ELLISVILLE - The Co-Lin Lady Wolves (11-7, 4-5) would find themselves in a very similar situation to their last meeting with the Lady Bobcats (12-6, 6-3). In that contest, a 69-64 Lady Bobcats victory on Dec. 9, Jones built up a big second half lead before the Lady Wolves came storming back behind a full court pressure defense. On Monday night the final score was closer, 70-67, but the outcome was once again in favor of the Jones Lady Bobcats.

WESSON – For the first time in over two decades, there will be new leadership on the baseball diamond at Copiah-Lincoln this season. Longtime head coach Keith Case retired following the 2013 season after leading the Wolves for 21 seasons. New head coach Clay Smith is ready to put his first edition on the field as the Wolves open their season on Saturday, Feb. 8 as they host the Mississippi Delta Trojans for a doubleheader. Smith inherits a small group of sophomores that saw significant time as freshmen in 2013.

Lady Wolves race past Gulf Coast

WESSON - The Copiah Lincoln Lady Wolves (11-6, 4-4) won their fourth straight game by defeating the Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs, 62-50 on Friday night. The Lady Bulldogs (6-10, 2-6 South Division) had beaten Co-Lin, 63-58, in their previous meeting on Dec. 5.Both teams struggled shooting the ball. Co-Lin finished shooting 28% from the floor and Gulf Coast shot 29%. An active pressing and trapping defense by Co-Lin would prove to be the key to the game as the Lady Wolves forced the Lady Bulldogs into 23 turnovers.
