Glenn Davis
Head Football Coach

Glenn Davis begins his sixth year as head coach of the Wolves. He led the Wolves to a 21-0 shutout victory over the Georgia Military Bulldogs in the 2006  Sea Island Company Golden Isles Bowl Classic. The Wolfpack finished the 2006 season with a 9-3 record, ranked No. 6 in the final NJCAA poll, MACJC South Division Champions and State Runner-Up.

Davis previously served at Co-Lin as offensive coordinator from 1995-96. During those two years, he helped lead the team to a 15-5 overall record.

Davis is a 1982 graduate of Delta State University where he was a three-year letterman as a defensive back and outside linebacker for the Statesmen. His other coaching stints include offensive coordinator at South Natchez High School (1982-85), graduate assistant at Mississippi State (1986-87), defensive backs and wide receivers coach at the University of North Alabama (1988-91), and quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers coach at Holmes Community College (1992-94). From 1997-2003 he served as running backs coach at Mississippi State University under former head coach Jackie Sherrill.

Under Davis’ tutelage, the Bulldogs lead the Southeastern Conference in rushing in 2000 averaging 193.8 yards per game and ranked third in 1998 averaging 172 yards per game. He mentored Dicenzo Miller to Mississippi State’s sixth-ever, 1,000-yard season in 2000 (1,005 yards) and James Johnson to the fourth and fifth-ever, 1,000-yard campaigns in 1997 (1,069 yards) and 1998 (1,383 yards).

He and his wife Minta, are the parents of two children, Ann Shelby and Micah.

 

Brett Shufelt
Defensive Coordinator


Brett Shufelt begins his sixth year as defensive coordinator for the Wolfpack. A graduate of Western New Mexico University, Shufelt received a B.S. degree in movement science. He earned a master’s degree in educational administration and a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Mississippi State University.

Shufelt served as a graduate assistant at New Mexico State University (1994-1995) and Mississippi State University (1995-1997). He served as defensive coordinator/linebacker coach at Western New Mexico University (1992-1994). His other coaching stints include Silver City (NM) High School, Amphitheater (AZ) High School, and Sabino (AZ) High School. 

Shufelt is married to the former Tracy Britt of Wesson (Co-Lin Class of 1989) and owner of Salon 51 in Wesson. They have one daughter, Mimi, 10.

 

Drew O'Daniel
Offensive Line Coach


Drew O’Daniel begins his second year as offensive line coach for the Wolfpack. He spent the last three seasons at Western Carolina University overseeing the offensive line while working with the offensive line and tight ends. At WCU, O’Daniel coached offensive linemen Kevin McAlmont, Wendell Singletary, and Marcus Thomas, all who have signed NFL free agent contracts. In 2005, Linden Ryan and McAlmont received All-SoCon honors.  The Catamount Offensive Line paved the way for 2006 All-Southern Conference running back Darius Fudge who was the sixth 1,000-yard rusher in WCU history.  Fudge eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark versus the eventual National Champion Florida Gators at the Swamp.

Prior to WCU, O’Daniel spent the 2004 season in his second stint at the University of North Carolina, working with player development and recruiting. He spent the 2003 season at North Carolina Central University, where he coached the offensive line. Between his jobs in the state of North Carolina, O’Daniel served as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Texas (2001-02), where he earned his Master of Education in 2002. O’Daniel worked with the offensive line and tight ends with the Big XII South champion Longhorns. While at Texas, he worked with All-Americans Derrick Dockery (Washington Redskins) and Mike Williams and current NFL tight ends Bo Scaife (Tennessee Titans) and Davis Thomas (New England Patriots).

O’Daniel’s first stint with the North Carolina Tar Heels came over three seasons (1998-2000), assisting the Tar Heel football program as an offensive graduate assistant (offensive line) and as assistant director of video operations.

He got his start in coaching as a student assistant at Florida State University where he was a fullback for the nationally-ranked Seminoles (1995-97). O’Daniel received his B.S. in biochemistry and his B.S. in chemistry at FSU in 1998. A native of Gulf Breeze, Fla., O’Daniel began his collegiate career at Louisiana State University (1993-94).

 

Calvin M. Green
Assistant Football Coach

Calvin Green enters his 16th year on the Co-Lin football staff. Green coaches the defense, specializing with the secondary players. Several of the players he’s coached have gone on to become NJCAA All-Americans, as well as NCAA Division I signees.

Prior to coming to Co-Lin in January 1994, Green served as assistant defensive back coach at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba under the former Mississippi State All-American and National League standout Tom Goode. Green also served as an assistant at Lawrence County High School.

Green graduated from Monticello High School where he was a three-year letterman as a defensive back. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College as a member of Coach Ray Ishee’s 1985 State Champion and East Bowl Champion teams. In 1986, Green was chosen MACJC Most Valuable Defensive Back. He also received All-Region XXIII and All-State honors at defensive back and was selected to play in the MACJC All-Star Game. 

He earned a B.S. degree in recreation from Alcorn State University. During his football career at Alcorn, Green earned letterman honors and in 1988 was a member of the “Nation’s Best Secondary.”

He is married to the former Falana Armstrong. They are the parents of two children, Farrod and Sabria.

 

Clarence McDougal
Assistant Football Coach

Second year assistant football coach Clarence McDougal will be coaching the linebackers this season. 

A graduate of Clinton High School, McDougal was a selected to the Clarion-Ledger’s Dandy Dozen as a defensive back and wide receiver. He was also named First Team All-State, Metro Player of the Year and was selected to play in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game. McDougal was also rated the No. 6 safety in the country and was a high school All-American.

McDougal received his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies at Mississippi State University. He was a three-year starter for the Bulldogs 2001-2005. 

McDougal attended mini camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League.


Billl Hemingway
Volunteer Football Coach


Bill Hemingway begins his second year as a volunteer football coach. He will primarily work with the running backs and kickers. 

Hemingway played four years at the University of Arkansas. He received his bachelor of business administration from Delta State University. 

His coaching stints include Delta State University, Oklahoma State University,  the University of Miami, University of Arkansas-Monticello, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Paul Quinn College, and Arkansas Baptist College.

Hemingway has worked for Nike select football combines as well as National Football League player camps.

He has played and coached with several notable coaches including Frank Broyles, Lou Holtz, Jimmy Johnson, Houston Nutt, Pat Jones, Larry Coker, Monte Kiffin, Butch Davis and many current college and NFL coaches. 

He coached the National College South All-Star Bowl Team and coached and played in major bowl games.

Hemingway is the father of two children, Andrea and Matt.
