SAUCIER - Co-Lin's Derin Petite shot a 76 today to take medalist honors in the MACJC Event #! at Grand Bear Country Club. Petite shot a two-day total of 149 (73-76) 1-shot ahead of Northwest's Grant Goforth.

The Wolfpack, the defending MACJC State Champions, finished in fourth place with a two-day total of 647, 10 strokes ahead of fifth place East Mississippi. Mississippi Gulf Coast took the title with a team total of 628.

Petite, a sohpomore from Gonzales, LA, was in third place after the first round. Sophomore Donnie McFarland of McCall Creek was tied for 12th place at 159 (79-80). Clay Price of Hazlehurst shot 167 ( 82-85) followed by freshman Berry Givens of Wesson at 169 (83-86). Other Co-Lin scores include Josh Nettles of McComb 172 (85-87) and Jake Smith of Hazlehurst 180 (91-89).

Northwest Mississippi finished in second place 630 (305-325) two-strokes behind Gulf Coast. Finishing in third place was Northeast Mississippi at 634 (306-328).

The Wolfpack resume action on Feb. 20-21 in MACJC Event #2 at Forest County Club in Forest, MS. East Central Community College will host the tournament.
