Bradley, Lady Wolves rally for 77-71 win

WESSON - Keosha Bradley scored a season-high 33 points to lead the Lady Wolves to a 77-71 come from behind victory over the Mississippi Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs. Co-Lin improves to 17-3 overall, 10-0 in the South Division. The Lady Wolves will be the No. 1 seed from the South Division in the upcoming MACJC State Tournament. Gulf Coast falls to 10-10 overall, 4-6 in the division. The Lady Wolves step out of Division play as they travel to Clarksdale on Thursday to take on Coahoma Community College.

Gulf Coast went on a  10-3 run in the last five minutes of the first half to take a 31-24 lead at halftime.

The Lady Wolves went on a 19-4 run to start the second half to take a 43-35 lead with 15:17 to go. Gulf Coast would rally to pull within 4 points at 52-48 at the 8:53 mark, but back-to-back baskets by Vintrice Briggs would give the Lady Wolves a 59-53 lead with 5:57 remaining.

The Lady Wolves would 9-of-10 from the free throw line in the last 45 seconds of the game to preserve the win.

Co-Lin, who shot 35 percent in the first half, bounced back to shoot 64 percent in the second half for 50 percent for the game. Gulf Coast out-rebounded the Lady Wolves 28-24 and their bench out-scored Co-Lin 33-17.

Two other players were in double figures for the Lady Wolves. Jasmine James had14 points followed by Briggs with 10. Bradley led off the backboards with 6 rebounds. Jasmine Belton and Chanta Poole made 4 steals apiece.

Gulf Coast had three players score in double figures led by Ricille Davis and Cara Beverin with 14 points apiece. Delainna Lyons chipped in 13 points. Markia Nix pulled down 8 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.
