Wolfpack trio sign with West Alabama

WESSON — A trio of Copiah-Lincoln Community College football players have signed with the University of West Alabama for 2012. Safety Robert Jones of Laurel, defensive end Jerry McNair of Magee and running back Danny Hobbs of Prentiss have singed with the Tigers.

Jones (6-1, 180) was a leader on for the Wolfpack defense this season accounting for 59 tackles and 1 interception. He also represented the Wolfpack on the South squad at the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-Star Game in Booneville in December.

McNair (6-2, 280) accounted for 45 tackles, 3.5 sacks, caused 1 fumble and recovered 1 fumble in 8 games for the Wolfpack.

Hobbs (5-10, 195) led Co-Lin with 8 touchdowns (7 rushing, 1 receiving) this season. He had 100 carries for 449 yards and 9 receptions for 80 yards.

UWA is coming on an 8-4 record this past season, including hosting a NCAA Division II playoff first round game - the first in the program's history. Will Hall is the head coach of Tigers.
