POPLARVILLE — The Co-Lin Lady Wolves were shutout by the Pearl River Lady Wildcats 6-0 in MACJC South Division opener for both teams. Co-Lin travels to Holmes on Tuesday. Action begins at 1 p.m.
The Lady Wolves fall to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the division. Pearl River remains undefeated at 5-0 overall and 1-0 in division play.
The match was scoreless for the first 15-plus minutes until Emmaleigh Davis, a University of Memphis transfer, converted a penalty kick at the 29:20 mark of the first half to give the Lady Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
Jordan Organ was good on a free kick to give the Lady Wildcats a 2-0 lead. Carleigh Holley and Presley Stigletts scored goals to give Pearl River a 4-0 lead at the half.
In the second half, Charlotte Crisp of Surrey, England, made it 5-0 with a goal with 31:50 left. Pearl River's final goal came from Jessica Kirkwood at the 15:40 mark.
