No. 20 Gulf Coast edges Lady Wolves

WESSON - The No. 20 ranked Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs edged the Lady Wolves in South Division tennis action. Co-Lin took wins at No. 2 doubles, No. 3, 5 and 6 singles. The Lady Wolves travel to Holmes on Monday, April 11, at 2 p.m.

"Alex/Katie played really well at No. 1 doubles, defending state champion at No. 1 singles Ruta Grunvalde of Latvia and Arielle Fisher of Ocean Springs," said Coach Holli Pepper.  "Katie fought really hard at No. 4 but came up little short."

The No. 2 doubles team of Macie Case/Ansley Schimmel defeated Katherine Blair/Katie King 8-2. Ansley Schimmel defeted Blair at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-1. Nicole Magee rebounded from tough doubles loss and battled through leg injury to pick up a big win at No. 5 singles defeating McKinsey Boss 6-1, 6-1. Leah Manoley rebounded from tough second set to win matchbreaker 6-3, 3-6, (10-8) at No. 6 singles.
