WESSON, Miss. - With summer officially here, Copiah-Lincoln Community College and the Co-Lin Athletic Department shifts their attention to the upcoming summer camps. Co-Lin has several camps approaching quickly including basketball, softball, baseball, archery, recreational, cheer, and more.
The first camp of the year is our basketball fundamental day camp which is for 1st-8th graders on May 22 and 23. The camp will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Mullen Gymnasium on Co-Lin's Wesson campus. The purpose of the camp is to teach sound fundamentals to each camper in a pleasant learning environment regardless of the camper's level of ability. Registration is $85 and includes instruction, insurance, t-shirt, regulation basketball, and lunch each day. Our softball skills camp follows on May 28 and 29. The camp is from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and is open to anyone kindergarten through 6th grade. The cost is $80 and interested parties can register at www.colinsoftballcamps.com.
Baseball camp is slated for June 3 through June 5 for children aged 6 to 12. The camp is designed to help kids learn and improve their baseball skills. We will cover all aspects of baseball; including mechanics and drills for fielding, throwing, and hitting as well as the basics of pitching and catching. The camp is $80 for pre-registration and $100 for walk-ups and includes instruction, camp t-shirt, and limited insurance. For more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Co-Lin will also have a recreational day camp open to children 6 to 10 years old, June 17 to June 19 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The camp will be held in Mullen Gymnasium and is limited to 30 participants. Archery camp is set for June 10 and 11 and is open to anyone aged 10 through 15. The camp is $50 per participant and will last from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The camp will be held at Co-Lin's Simpson County Center and bows and arrows will be provided for those that do not have their own.
