Co-Lin Announces Kyle Flessner as New Head Baseball Coach

The Copiah-Lincoln Community College athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Kyle Flessner as the new baseball coach.

"Coach Kyle Flessner has shown an unwavering commitment to our student-athletes and to the vision of our baseball program," said Co-Lin President Dr. Dewayne Middleton. "He has fully embraced what it means to be part of the Co-Lin family, and I am confident he will continue to build on the strong tradition of excellence we've established."

"Co-Lin has been incredibly welcoming to me and been somewhere that I'm happy to call home," stated Flessner. "The community here is unbelievable with the support.  I can't wait to get to work with our players, our administration, and all the individuals bought in to keep Co-Lin in the wonderful position that it's in.  The possibilities here are endless.  This is a place where people are proud to say they are going or have been to. "

Flessner spent last season as assistant baseball coach with the Wolves where he worked primarily with pitchers. Flessner is a native of Thomasboro, Illinois and graduated from Rantoul Township High School where he played pitcher and outfielder during his high school baseball career.

"I couldn't be more excited for the direction of our program with Coach Flessner," stated Co-Lin Athletic Director Bryan Nobile. "His familiarity with recruiting and his development of pitchers was critical to our team's success last season. We're excited to see him step into this new role and continue our rise in our program!"

Flessner then attended Kankakee Community College where he played from 2015-17. He was a pitcher on the 2017 NJCAA Division II National Championship team for the Cavaliers. After graduating from Kankakee, he then attended Purdue University Northwest and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science.

Flessner came to Co-Lin after spending four years at East Central Community College as Assistant Baseball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. During his time there, he helped lead the Warriors to back-to-back NJCAA Division II World Series appearances including a third-place finish in 2024. Additionally, during his time with the Warriors the team were MACCC and Region 23 Champions in 2023 and reached No. 1 in the nation in 2024.

"Athletically, this is a program that can continue current success and keep growing to be a national powerhouse.  I plan to keep getting the right student-athletes on campus that will be a great reflection of what our program is," said Flessner. "We will push our players to not only be the best players they can be but also push them to better themselves in every aspect of life."

"We want to support the other programs here on campus that are after the same goal as us.  I want to continue to raise the already high standards of our program and others at Co-Lin," added Flessner. "I was fortunate enough to win a national championship as a player, and my goal is to do the same thing as a coach.  Co-Lin is a place where that is extremely possible."
