Lofton Earns Conference Honor

JACKSON – The Co-Lin Football team finished the final week of the regular season with an outstanding performance from sophomore punter/kicker Bryce Lofton (Sand Hill). Lofton's performance against the Bobcats during the Wolves Homecoming game has earned him the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honor.

Lofton averaged 60.5 yards across two kickoffs (total yardage of 121), but his biggest performance in the kicking game came from punting the ball. Bryce averaged 52 yards per punt across nine punts for a total of 468 yards with four punts going inside the 20-yard line and two of those going for touchbacks. Bryce also had four punts of 50+ yards with two of those going 60+ yards including a season and career-long 66-yard punt.

For the 2021 season, Lofton averaged 40.9 yards per punt (fifth best in the nation) across 60 punts for a total of 2451 yards, which is second in the NJCAA. Bryce had 29 punts go inside the 20-yard line, which led the NJCAA rankings, with eight being fair caught (tied for eighth best in the nation) and six going for touchbacks. Lofton also was eighth best in the nation in average yards per kickoff at 58 yards per kick.
