Lofton Earns Two Postseason Honors
JACKSON – Sophomore punter Bryce Lofton (Sand Hill) has been named to the All-Region team as announced by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference on Wednesday November 17. This honor comes in addition to Bryce being named First Team All-Conference South Division for his performance during the 2021 football season.
Lofton handled all the kicking duties for the Wolves throughout the season and had a stellar performance for his team while setting career highs for punting. Bryce averaged 58 yards per kickoff which was seventh best in the NJCAA Division I Football rankings. As a punter, Lofton had 2,451 yards on 60 punts, both marks are third most in the nation, with an average of 40.9 yards per punt which is sixth best. Lofton also led the nation in punts within the 20-yard line at 29 and was tied for ninth in fair catches with eight while also leading the nation in touchbacks with six.
Bryce's best performance of the season came in the finale against Jones when he averaged 52 yards per punt across nine punts for a total of 468 yards with four punts going inside the 20-yard line and two of those going for touchbacks. Bryce also had four punts of 50+ yards with two of those going 60+ yards including a season and career-long 66-yard punt. This performance earned Bryce the MACCC Special Teams Player of the Week on November 2.
