Pair of Wolves Earn All-Region Honors

WESSON – The NJCAA All-Region 23 Football team was recently announced, and the Wolves saw two of its members earn spots on the team this season. Defensive back DJ Hill-Smith (Reed, AR) and punter Humberto Rosales (McCalla, AL) brought home the honors for the Wolves.

As a punter, Humberto Rosales had 1408 yards on 35 punts for an average 40.2 yards per punt, which was second-most in the MACCC and fourth-most in the NJCAA. He had 15 punts go inside the 20-yard line which was a Top 10 mark in the MACCC while having no punts go for touchbacks this season.

In his lone season with the Wolves, sophomore defensive back DJ Hill-Smith was Top 10 in total tackles with 24 while playing and starting in all nine games this season. He also had one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one interception return for a 44-yard touchdown.

These All-Region 23 honors come in addition to both players being named First Team All-MACCC South earlier this season. The Wolves finished the 2024 season 5-4 overall, 3-3 in MACCC South Division play.
