Basketball schedule, attendance policies set for 2021 season
Thanks to COVID-19, the 2021 basketball season will look and feel different.
Mississippi currently has restrictions on indoor venues of 10 percent of seating capacity. Because of these restrictions, the general public or visiting fans will NOT be allowed in Mullen Gymnasium. Players, coaches and cheerleaders will have allotted passes for their families and friends. MACCC, MHSAA, MAIS, and specific Co-Lin passes will be accepted. For those in attendance, masks should be worn, and social distancing with families is encouraged.
"Unfortunately, COVID-19 has forced us to change the way we operate for the 2021 season," said Co-Lin Athletic Director Bryan Nobile. "We hate the situation, but until the situation improves, we will have to do the best thing for our student-athletes. Co-Lin students and fans will have the opportunity to watch all of our home games by tuning into our live stream at www.colinathletics.com or the college's Facebook account."
The Mississippi Association of Community College Conference adopted a "mirrored" schedule. Teams will continue to play under the North and South division alignments reducing travel. For example, when the men's team plays at home, the women will be on the road against the same opponent instead of the normal home and away doubleheaders.
