Wolf Pack come from behind to capture fourth in MACCC Event #5
PHILADELPHIA, Mississippi – The Co-Lin golf team came from behind to capture fourth place in the Mississippi Community College Conference (MACCC) Event #5 hosted by East Central Community College at Dancing Rabbit Country Club. The Wolves, who started today in fifth place five shots behind the host East Central, finished strong with a final round of 312 for a two-day total of 635 to overtake the Warriors who finished at 643.
"The team score was better today, even though conditions were toucher," said Co-Lin golf coach Allen Kent. "Ty played well again. Hopefully, Navid will be able to play in the next tournament."
Meridian won the tournament with a 580 followed by Mississippi Gulf Coast at 591, Northeast Mississippi 602, Co-Lin at 635, East Central at 643, Itawamba at 655, Pearl River at 660, Southwest at 684, Southwest Mississippi at 712, and East Mississippi at 721.
Individually for the Wolf Pack, sophomore Ty Nelson of Monticello led the Wolves with a two-day total of 150 (75-75). Alex Navarro (Valencia, Spain) followed with a 156 (78-78), Tanner Harrison (Brandon) 157 (78-79), and Chandler Byrd (Wesson) at 172 (92-80). Navid Mousavi (Castellon, Spain) withdrew with an injury in the first round.
The Wolf Pack will resume play after spring break on March 21-22 at the MACCC Event #6 hosted by Meridian Community College at Northwood Country Club.
