Wolf Pack finish fourth in MACCC Event #6

MERIDIAN – Due to the threat of severe weather, the two-day 36-hole Mississippi Community College Conference (MACCC) Event #6 golf tournament was changed to a one event. The tournament was hosted by Meridian Community College at the Northwood Country Club. The Co-Lin Wolf Pack capture fourth place in the event firing a 619 (306-313).

Mississippi Gulf Coast won the tournament with a 581, 10 shots ahead of second place followed by Meridian 591. Northeast Mississippi took third at 612, Co-Lin at 619, Itawamba at 642, Pearl River at 643, East Central at 654, Southwest at 677, and East Mississippi at 681.  

Individually, Co-Lin freshman Alex Navarro (Valencia, Spain) fired at 144 (74-70) to finish in third place earning him a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Other Co-Lin scores include Navid Mousavi (Castellon, Spain) 158 (78-80), Chandler Byrd (Wesson) 162 (77-85), Ty Nelson (Monticello) 163 (85-78) and Tanner Harrison (Brandon) 165 (77-88).

Capturing medalist honors for the tournament was David Beard of Mississippi Gulf Coast at 138 (71-67) followed by teammate Reeves Johnson at 143 (71-72).

Co-Lin will host the MACCC State Tournament at Wolf Hollow Golf Club on April 8-9 in Wesson.
