Co-Lin captures fourth at the MACCC State Golf Championship
WESSON - The Co-Lin Wolves captured fourth place in the Mississippi Association of Community College Conference State Golf Tournament held at Wolf Hollow Golf Club in Wesson. The Wolves posted a two-day total of 629 (324-305) and earned a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) District Tournament on April 25 and 26.
"We played a lot better today, as the winds died down," said Co-Lin head coach Allen Kent. "We had the second lowest team score, but just had too big of a deficit to overcome yesterday's scores. I'm proud of our guys for scoring a lot today. This helped us solidify us a spot in the regional tournament. Today's round should give us some momentum going into the regional."
Meridian Community College captured the State Championship firing a 614 (304-310), 10 strokes ahead of second place Mississippi Gulf Coast 624 (322-302). Northeast Mississippi, last year's state champion, shot 626 (318-308) three shots ahead of the Wolves.
