Wolves finish fifth in first MACCC Tournament

CORINTH, Mississippi – The Co-Lin golf team started their season with a fifth place finish in the Mississippi Association of Community College Conference's (MACCC) tournament held at Shiloh Ridge Country Club in Corinth. The tournament was hosted by Northeast Mississippi Community College.

The Wolves finished with a two-day total of 613 (314-299). Mississippi Gulf Coast captured first place with a 570 (286-284) one shot ahead of second place Meridian at 571 (284-287). Itawamba finished third with a 602 (303-299) followed by East Central at 609 (304-305). Other team scores included Hinds 615 (296-319), East Mississippi 625 (311-314), Northeast Mississippi 630 (311-319), Pearl River 640 (330-310), Jones College 659 (341-318), and Southwest Mississippi 687 (349-338).

Individually, Co-Lin was led by sophomores Alex Navarro (Valencia, Spain) and Navid Mousavi (Castellon, Spain) at 147 (75-72) and 154 (78-76) respectively. Davis Mercer (Madison) fired 155 (80-75) followed by Chandler Byrd (Wesson) 157 (81-76), Myles Walters (Laurel) 158 (84-74), and Reese McLaurin (Laurel) 163 (86-77).
