Wolf Pack finish second in MGCCC Fall Invitational

GULFPORT, Mississippi – The Co-Lin golf team finished second in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Fall Invitational at Windance Country Club in Gulfport. Co-Lin sophomore Alex Navarro (Valencia, Spain) was tied at 213 with Chase Kaiser of Gulf Coast for medalist honors at the end of regulation. Kaiser won the first playoff hole. Both golfers were named to the All-Tournament Team.

"We are proud of Alex. He played really well, but he just couldn't get many putts to fall," said Co-Lin head coach Allen Kent. "The course played tougher today with 25-30 mph wind gusts. We are trending in the right direction and are looking forward to the season resumes in the spring."

The Bulldogs took the team title with a score of 875 followed by the Wolf Pack at 907. Meridian finished third at 916 followed by Calhoun Community College (AL) at 933, Andrew Community College (GA) 935, Coastal Alabama 942, East Mississippi 948, Rend Lake College (IL) 951, East Central 953, and Pearl River 997.

Individual scores for the Wolf Pack are Chandler Byrd (Wesson) finished at 226, Navid Mousavi (Castellon, Spain) 227, Myles Walters (Laurel) 241, and Reese McLaurin (Laurel) 258.

This tournament completes the fall schedule for Co-Lin. The Wolf Pack will resume play February 6-7 in the MACCC Event #4 at The Oaks Golf Club in Past Christian.
