Wolves finish third in William Carey Showcase

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi – The Co-Lin Wolves finished third in the William Carey University Showcase held at Canebrake Country Club. Meridian (295) took the top spot edging out Mississippi Gulf Coast (296) by one stroke followed by the Wolves at 302.

"Alex (Navarro) and Navid (Mousavi) played really well," said Co-Lin head golf coach Allen Kent. "Some of our other guys faded on the back nine, as we were in contention for a good bit of the round. It's a decent showing, wrapping up our fall schedule, but we still have some things we need to clean up."

Navarro (Valencia, Spain) continued to play well shooting an even par 72 to finish third place and earning a spot on the All-Tournament.  Mousavi (Castellon, Spain) finished at 73 followed by teammates Chandler Byrd (Wesson) 77, Myles Walters (Laurel) 80 and Reese McLaurin (Laurel) 83.

Other team scores included William Carey University and East Central tied at 312, Hinds 317, Jones 325, and Pearl River 334.

The Wolves return to action on February 6-7 in the MACCC Event #4 at The Oakes Golf Club in Pass Christian.
