Wolves tie for fourth in Lou Hart Invitational

MERIDIAN, Mississippi – The Co-Lin golf team finished in a three-way tie for fourth place in the Lou Hart Invitational Golf Tournament at Northwood Country Club in Meridian. Mississippi Gulf Coast ran away with the tournament firing a two-day total of 583, 21 strokes ahead of second place Meridian. East Mississippi claimed third place at 602. Co-Lin, Jones College, and Northeast Mississippi tied for fourth at 608, followed by Pearl River (617), Itawamba (620), East Central and Hinds at 630, and Southwest Mississippi (667).

"We got a little too aggressive on a few holes and it cost us," said Co-Lin Golf Coach Allen Kent. "We need to tighten some things up before the conference tournament next week."

Individually for the Wolves sophomore Navid Mousavi (Castellon, Spain) led the way with a two-day total of 146 (71-75) which earned him a tie for eighth place. Alex Navarro (Valencia, Spain) fired a 149 (75-74) followed by Reese McLaurin at 152 (75-77), Chandler Byrd at 161 (80-81), and Myles Walters at 177 (88-89).

The Wolves will play in the MACCC Conference Tournament next week at The Oaks Golf Club in Pass Christian.
