Navarro, Mousavi named All-Conference, Wolves finish sixth

PASS CHRISTIAN, Mississippi – Co-Lin sophomores Alex Navarro (Valencia, Spain) and Navid Mousavi (Castellon, Spain) were named MACCC Second Team All-Conference. The announcement was made at the end of the MACCC State/Conference Championship held at The Oaks Golf Club in Pass Christian.

The Wolves, who finished in sixth place in the tournament, will play in NJCAA District D Championship to be held at Bear Pre' Golf Country Club in Natchez Thursday and Friday April 20-21.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs won the MACCC Championship with a two-day score of 565. Meridian finished in second followed by Northeast Mississippi at 627. Jones and East Mississippi finished tied for fourth place at 630, but because the host team, Co-Lin, gets an automatic berth. Jones College won the playoff and captured the fourth place spot. Rounding out the team scores are Co-Lin 663, East Central 642, Pearl River 364, Hinds 646, Southwest Mississippi 661, and Itawamba 674.

Alex Navarro led the way for Co-Lin with a two-day total of 144, earning him a fourth place finish a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Other individual scores were Navid Mousavi (153), Myles Walters (167), Reese McLaurin (177), and Chandler Byrd (184).

The top two teams in the MJCAA District D Tournament will qualify for the NJCAA National Tournament April 24-26 at The Golf Club at Swan Lake in Plymouth, Indiana. The top five individual finishers not on the top two teams will also qualify for the National Tournament.
