Guibert, Toreld finish season at NJCAA Gulf District Tournament

PHILADELPHIA, Mississippi – Co-Lin freshmen Oscar Toreld (Binnerback, Sweden) and Lander Guibert (San Sebastian, Spain) completed their season at the NJCAA Gulf District Golf Tournament at Dancing Rabbit Country Club in Philadelphia.

Both Guibert and Toreld were in contention for an individual bid for the national tournament had they finished with the top individual score from a non-qualified team. Guibert was leading after the second round but faltered in the final round shooting a 78 for a three-day total 220 (70-72-78). After firing a first round 78, Toreld could not make up any ground in the final two rounds finishing with a 222 (78-73-71).

Mississippi Gulf Coast captured the team title with a three-day total of 818. Meridian and East Central also qualified to compete in the NJCAA Division II National Golf Tournament in Joplin, Missouri in June.
