Griesheimer Makes All-Tournament Team at Shiloh Ridge
CORINTH – The Co-Lin Golf team continued their season with the second event of MACCC play at Shiloh Ridge Golf Course on Monday, September 22, and Tuesday, September 23. The team placed sixth with a bounce back performance on the second day of the event while Leopold Griesheimer (Sankt Leon-Rot, Germany) finished second overall and made the All-Tournament Team while missing first place and medalist honors by one stroke.
The first day of competition saw the Wolves off to a rocky start as they shot a +11 (299) as a team while Griesheimer finished the day as the individual leader with a -6 (66) while Max Seidemann (Bruchhausen-Vilsen, Germany) shot a +1(73). Kolby Cox (Meadville) and Ben Kumlehn (Schwetzingen, Germany) shot a +7 (79) and +9 (81) respectively for the team score. While Colton Touchstone (Petal) also shot a +9(81) as the team's fifth golfer and Gabe Gennaro shot a +17(89) competing as an individual.
The second day of the competition saw every member of the team except Griesheimer improve their score by at least one stroke while the team finished even par (288) on the day. Griesheimer and Seidemann both shot -4 (68) on the day as Griesheimer finished with a two-day total of -10 (134) and second overall while Seidemann -3 (141) and ninth overall. Kumlehn shot +2(74) to finish +11 (155) while Cox shot +6 (78) to finish with a +13 (157) marking the two-day team total at +11 (587). Touchstone shot a +7 (79) to finish +16 (160) while Gennaro also shot a +7 (79) to finish +24 (168).
Co-Lin will return to action at the Jim Redgate Invitational, the third event of MACCC play, on Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 7, at Briarwood Country Club in Meridian.
