Golf Wraps Up Fall Play

WESSON – The Co-Lin Golf team finished the fall portion of the schedule playing in two events in October. The Wolves competed in the Jim Redgate Invitational at Briarwood Country Club on October 6-7 and finished in 10th place and then finished the fall with the Charles Cooper Classic at Windance Country Club on October 27-28 and finished in 17th place.

In the first day of the Jim Redgate Invitational the Wolves shot a +25(313) as Leopold Griesheimer (Sankt Leon-Rot, Germany) led the way with a +4(76). Colton Touchston (Petal) and Max Seidemann (Bruchhausen-Vilsen, Germany) both shot +6(78) rounds while Ben Kumlehn (Schwetzingen, Germany) shot a +9(81) to count for the team score. Kolby Cox (Meadville) shot a +14(86) while Gabe Gennaro (Brookhaven) competed as an individual and shot +11(83) round one.

In day two the Wolves shot a +30(318) as a team to finish the invitational +55(631) as Griesheimer led the team shooting a +1(73) to finish +5(149) overall. Cox showed the biggest improvement from the two rounds shooting a +7(79) to finish +21(165). Touchstone and Seidemann once again finished with the same scores as they shot +11(83) rounds to finish +17(161) for the final team score. Kumlehn shot a +11(83) also to finish +20(164) while Gennaro showed improvement in his final round with a +7(79) to finish +17(162).

In the Charles Cooper Classic, the Wolves played two rounds on the first day of competition shooting a +34(322) in round one and a +29(307) in round two to finish at +63(629). Seidemann led the way on the first day shooting a +3(75) and +2(74) to finish +5(149) while Kumlehn shot a +5(77) and +3(75) finishing +8(152). Owen Siegfried (Brandon) shot a +10(82) and a +6(78) to finish +16(160) with Gennaro shooting +16(88) and +18(90) finishing +34(178).

In the third round, the Wolves shot a +40(328) as Seidemann shot a +3(75) to finish +8(224) to lead the team. Kumlehn shot a +6(78) to finish +14(230) while Siegfried shot a +11(83) to finish +27(243). Gennaro shot a +20(92) to finish +54(270).

The Wolves will return to competition in the spring with the fifth event of MACCC play at The Club at Diamondhead on February 9.
