Golf Kicks off Spring Portion of Schedule
WESSON – The Co-Lin Golf team returned to competition with two events in February playing in the fifth event of MACCC play at The Club at Diamondhead on February 9-10 where they finished 11th and then competing in the Tommy Snell Invitational on February 25-26 finishing 6th.
In the first event the Wolves shot a +50(338) as a team with Ben Kumlehn (Schwetzingen, Germany) leading the team with a +10(82) while Leopold Griesheimer (Sankt Leon-Rot, Germany) shot a +11(83). Owen Siegfried (Brandon) shot a +14(86) with Max Seidemann (Bruchhausen-Vilsen, Germany) shooting a +15(87) to round out the team score. Colton Touchstone (Petal) competed as an individual and shot a +20(92).
The second saw improvement from three out of the four team score contributors as they shot a +34(322) to finish +84(660) as Griesheimer made a big improvement shooting +4(76) to finish +15(159). Siegfried made the biggest improvement shooting a +7(79) to finish +21(165) while Kumlehn shot +8(80) to finish +18(162). Seidemann matched his day one score with another +15(87) to finish +30(174). Touchstone shot a +23(95) to finish +43(187).
The Tommy Snell Invitational saw the Wolves play two rounds in day one as they shot a +16(296) and +19(299) to finish the first day at +35(595). In the first round Griesheimer led the team with a +1(71) while Kumlehn shot a +2(72). Seidemann shot a +6(76) and Siegfried fired a +7(77). In the second round, Seidemann made a huge improvement firing off an even (70) round to finish the day +6(146) while Kumlehn scored a +5(75) to finish +7(147). Griesheimer shot a +6(76) finishing +7(147) with Siegfired hitting a +8(78) finishing +15(155). Gabe Gennaro (Brookhaven) shot a +15(85) and +10(80) to finish the first day +25(165).
In the third round, the Wolves shot a +18(298) as Griesheimer led the team with a +1(71) round to finish the tournament at +8(218). Seidemann fired a +5(75) finishing +11(221) while Kumlehn shot a +6(76) to finish +13(223). Gennaro also shot a +6(76) to contribute to the team score in the final round and finished the tournament +31(241). Siegfried was just one stroke behind those two with a +7(77) finishing +22(232).
The Golf team will continue the spring portion of the schedule with the Chris Clark Invitational at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Philadelphia on March 2-3.
