Wolves fall to Gulf Coast

WESSON – The Co-Lin Wolves (3-1-1) suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs 5-3 in soccer action today.

Co-Lin's Eli Fratesi (Leland/Washington School) put the Wolves on the board first at the 27:48 mark in the first half. Matt Preston (Manchester, England) with the assist.

Gulf Coast answered with a goal by James Redmond. The match was tied at 1-1 at the half.

The Bulldogs took 3-1 lead in the second half on goals by Fabien Barker and Abdul Omar. Co-Lin's Fratesi would score his second goal with an assist by Matthew Collins (Gulfport/West Harrison High School) to close the Bulldog lead 3-2.

Redmond would score his second goal of the game to increase the Gulf Coast lead to 4-2.

Co-Lin's Joel Ibanez (Isle of Mann, England) would get in the scoring column with an assist by Matt Preston to close the Bulldog lead to 4-3.

Arturo Rivera would score the final score of the game for Gulf Coast to secure the Gulf Coast 5-3 win.

Co-Lin goalie Ben Parkinson would make 20 saves.
