POPLARVILLE – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team returned to MACCC play with a road match against Pearl River on Tuesday, October 7. The No. 12 Wildcats beat the Wolves, 1-0.
The early part of the first half was a defensive battle between both squads as neither could find the back of the net despite early scoring chances. However, the Wildcats scored their goal late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead and that held throughout the remainder of play.
The Wolves fought for the entirety of the second half to find an equalizer but were unsuccessful as the Wildcats sealed the 1-0 win.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jaime Duran (Madison) saved eight of nine shots on goal faced throughout the match.
Co-Lin is now 4-3-2 overall and 2-2-2 in MACCC play and will return to action hosting East Central on Friday, October 10. Kickoff between the Lady Wolves and the Lady Warriors is set for 1 p.m., on the pitch at Stone Stadium in Wesson.
