Wolves Falter Late in Loss to Bulldogs

PERKINSTON – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team hit the road to continue MACCC play with a match against Gulf Coast on Tuesday, October 16. The Wolves dropped the match, 2-1, against the Bulldogs.

The first half of the match nearly ended scoreless as neither team could take advantage of scoring chances early on. However, the Bulldogs found their first goal with one second left on the clock to take a 1-0 lead.

The Wolves continued to fight and look for an equalizer which ultimately came in the 58th minute as Yohan Bedoya (Bogota, Colombia) struck a penalty kick past the Bulldogs keeper to tie the match at 1-1. However, the Bulldogs took advantage of an errant pass by the Wolves and regained the lead with a goal in the 74th minute making the score, 2-1. The Wolves then had a couple of scoring chances late in the match, but could not find another equalizer as the Bulldogs sealed the 2-1 win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jaime Duran (Madison) saved five of seven shots on goal faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin is now 5-4-2 overall, 3-3-2 in MACCC play, and will return to action hosting Calhoun on Friday, October 17. The action between the Wolves and the Warhawks kicks off at 3:00 p.m., at Stone Stadium in Wesson.
