Miller Signs with Senior College
WESSON – The Co-Lin Softball team recently celebrated several of their sophomores signing with senior colleges. One of those sophomores was Madi Miller who will continue her career at Belhaven University.
Miller, a Brookhaven native, had a strong sophomore season as a key piece for the Lady Wolves where she was Top-5 in most or all offensive categories. Madi had the second most hits (58) and the second most at-bats (158) while also being tied for fifth on the team in doubles with four and having the third-most triples with two. She also had one home run, 18 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases while finishing the season with the fifth highest batting average at .367 and posted an on-base percentage of .416 while slugging .437 and had a .971 fielding percentage while playing catcher and right field for the Lady Wolves. Miller also received Second Team All-MACCC honors for her performance during the season.
As a freshman, Miller played in 42 games for the Lady Wolves and had 52 hits in 146 at-bats with four doubles, four triples, 19 RBIs, 11 stolen bases and 36 runs scored. She finished the season with a .356 batting average, .399 on-base percentage, and .438 slugging percentage. Miller finished her Lady Wolves career with 110 hits in 304 at-bats with eight doubles, six triples, one home run, 37 RBIs, 25 stolen bases, and 79 runs scored in 92 games played while carrying a career batting average of .362, on-base percentage of .408, slugging percentage of .438, and a .971 fielding percentage.
"I expect to see Madi do big things at Belhaven," stated Co-Lin head coach Meleah Howard. "She's a natural leader on and off the field and always has such a positive impact on everyone that she's around. I am so proud of her and her accomplishments!"
The Lady Wolves finished the 2022 season with a 42-10 overall record, setting a single season record for wins, while also winning the first conference championship since 2009 and earned the number one ranking in the NJCAA Division II Softball poll for the first time in program history.
