Emily Richarde Named Pitcher of the Year

JACKSON – In addition to the All-MACCC teams announced on Thursday, May 15, the MACCC also announced the pitcher and player of the year honorees. Sophomore pitcher Emily Richarde (Lakeland, TN) was named the 2024-25 Pitcher of the Year for the MACCC making it the second time in the last four years a member of the Lady Wolves has taken the honor after Cera Blanchard earned the honor in the 2021-22 season.

"I couldn't be prouder of Emily," stated Co-Lin head coach Meleah Howard. "She has worked so hard and is very deserving of this honor. Her determination and work ethic is impeccable and I am thankful that God led her to us and to have her on our pitching staff!"

Richarde, an Arkansas Tech University signee, was a star in the circle during her sophomore season finishing the regular season a perfect 18-0 (13-0 in MACCC play) and currently sits at 20-1 overall. The 20 wins are the third-most in the MACCC while her 1.57 earned run average is fourth highest in the conference and her team-leading 129 strikeouts are a Top 10 mark in the conference. She has pitched 142.2 innings this season allowing 40 runs, 32 earned, on 74 hits with 70 walks.

The Lady Wolves are 43-5 overall and set MACCC history with a 27-1 record for the best finish by a team ever. They have earned the No. 5 seed in the NJCAA Division II Softball National Tournament and will face off against the No. 12 seed Rock Valley on Monday, May 19 at 3 p.m., at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL.
