Lady Wolves Drop Overtime Contest Against Lady Eagles

WESSON- The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team continued South Division play with a home contest against Meridian on Friday, October 15. The Lady Eagles beat the Lady Wolves by a final of 2-1 in overtime.

The Wolf Pack got on the board first as freshman forward Alana Dear (Madison) found the back of the net with an assist from freshman defender Madison Crain (Brandon) in the 24th minute taking a 1-0 lead. The lead held throughout the remainder of the half as the Lady Wolves took the 1-0 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.

The Lady Eagles tied the game with a goal in the 58th minute and neither team could break the tie through the remainder of regulation sending the game into overtime at 1-1.

Neither team scored in the first overtime period; however, the Lady Eagles scored in the 102nd minute ending the contest and taking a 2-1 victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alexandra Moon (Poynton with Worth, England) saved 12 of 14 shots on goal throughout the match.

Co-Lin is now 3-9-1 overall and 2-5 in South Division play and will return to action with a road contest against Gulf Coast on Tuesday, October 19. The action on the pitch will kickoff at 5 p.m.
