SUMMIT – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team hit the road to face off against Southwest on Sunday, August 24 to open the 2025 season. The Lady Bears beat the Lady Wolves by a final of 1-0.
The first half saw the Lady Wolves have several scoring opportunities but could not find the back of the net as sophomore goalie Olivia Conway (Huddersfield, England) saved all three shots on goal she faced. The half ended with the scoreboard showing 0-0.
The Lady Bears then scored the lone goal of the game early in the second half to take a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute. Despite a barrage of shots on goal from Ella-Mai Bale (Peterborough, England), Sara Pinzon (Starkville), Madeline Logan (Brandon), and Jess Abrantes Peterborough, England) the Lady Wolves could not find an equalizer to tie the match.
Conway saved nine of 10 shots on goal while the Lady Wolves had 14 shots on goal throughout the match. The Lady Wolves will be back in action on the road against East Central on Friday, September 5. Kickoff between the Lady Wolves and Lady Warriors is set for 7 p.m., in Decatur.
