POPLARVILLE – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team hit the road as they faced off against Pearl River to continue MACCC play on Tuesday, October 7. The No. 14 Wildcats beat the Wolves, 4-0.
The first half was a defensive battle between the two teams as neither could find a goal and the match was tied at halftime, 0-0. The Wildcats broke the stalemate with their first goal in the 52nd minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Wildcats then scored their final three goals in five minutes from the 75th-80th minutes while limiting the Lady Wolves scoring chances to seal a 4-0 win.
Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Conway (Huddersfield, England) saved 19 of 23 shots on goal faced throughout the match.
Co-Lin is now 4-3-2 overall and 2-2-2 in MACCC play and will return to action hosting East Central on Friday, October 10. Kickoff between the Lady Wolves and the Lady Warriors is set for 1 p.m., on the pitch at Stone Stadium in Wesson.
