FULTON, Miss. – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves moved to a perfect 5-0 on the year after they defeated Itawamba Community College 9-0 without dropping a set on the day. The win was flawless from top to bottom as Co-Lin controlled the day in both doubles and singles action.
At No. 1 doubles Paula Coronado and Carmen Manicea paired up and defeated ICC's Julianna Alves and Maggie Creekmore 8-3. At No. 2 doubles Co-Lin's Katy Clark and Kara Clark blew by Kaitlyn Meadows and Farrah Fowlkes 8-0, while Madison Shows and McKenzie Shows picked up an 8-4 win over Riley Crouch and Claire Ferguson at No. 3.
In singles action, the Lady Wolves continued their dominance. Coronado defeated Alves 7-5, 6-3, the closest match of the day, at No. 1. Manicea shutout Creekmore 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, while Katy Clark defeated Meadows 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3. Kara Clark played in the No. 4 slot for the Lady Wolves and cruised by Caroline Ferguson 6-3, 6-2. Ashlyn Locke played No. 5 for Co-Lin and defeated Fowlkes 6-2, 6-0, while Faith Bergeron rounded out the Lady Wolves at No. 6 with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Riley Crouch.
