WESSON, Miss. – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves stretched their winning streak to six over the weekend with an 8-1 win over Hinds. The Lady Wolves are back on the court today as they take on Southwest in Summit.
Paula Coronado and Carmen Manicea, Co-Lin's No. 1 doubles team, defeated Paula Gutierrez and Danna Gonzalez 8-1 to start the day. Katy Clark and Kara Clark paired up at No. 2 doubles and defeated Madison Curtis and Aryelle Grace Waters 8-2, while Madison Shows and McKenzie Shows played at No. 3 doubles and defeated Anna Hayden Taylor and Courtney Buffington 8-3.
The Lady Wolves kept up the intensity in singles play as Co-Lin won five out of the six matches. Coronado defeated Gutierrez at No. 1, 6-4, 6-1, and Manicia rolled past Gonzalez 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2. Katy Clark played at No. 3 for the Lady Wolves and defeated Curtis 6-1, 6-4, while Kara Clark won at No. 4 singles over Waters, 6-4, 6-0. Ashlyn Locke cruised to victory at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Taylor. Faith Bergeron rounded out the singles play at No. 6 as she fell to Buffington, 7-5, 6-3.
