Tennis Drops Regular Season Finale Matches

MOBILE, Ala. – The Co-Lin Men's and Women's Tennis teams hit the road to face off against Coastal Alabama in their final regular season matches on Saturday, April 5. Both teams lost their match to the Coyotes by identical 3-6 scores.

In the men's match, the Wolves got a point in the doubles pairings as Ege Altas (Istanbul, Turkey) and Jake Bucek (Geelong, Australia) won one double, 9-7. Robert Adcock (Brookhaven) and Tristin Rollins (Brookhaven) lost two doubles, 0-8, while Simon Cooper (Sumrall) and Mason Brand (Mantee) dropped three doubles, 1-8.

In the singles matches, Altas won one singles with identical 6-2 sets while Bucek took two singles, 6-4 and 6-2, to give the Wolves their other two points of the match. Adcock dropped three singles, 3-6 and 0-6, while Cooper lost four singles, 1-6 and 2-6. Brand fell at five singles, 1-6 and 4-6, with Jax Leggett (Bogue Chitto) taking a loss at six single, 2-6 and 1-6.

In the women's match, the Lady Wolves got a point in the doubles matches as Yariange Bello (Caracas, Venezuela) and Munashe Bera (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) took one doubles, 8-1. Georgina Labusch (Verl, Germany) and Sophie Sisson (Moss Point) dropped two doubles, 5-8, while Ann-Clark Van (Jayess) and Allie Grace McNeill (Brookhaven) lost three double, 1-8.

In the singles matches, the Lady Wolves picked up two points as Bello took one singles, 6-2 and 6-0, while Van won five singles, 6-2 3-6 1-0(12-10). Bera dropped two singles at 4-6 and 5-7 while Labusch lost three singles, 4-6 and 5-7. Sisson fell at four singles with identical 2-6 set scores while McNeill dropped six singles at 4-6 and 2-6.

The Wolves finish 7-9 overall while the Lady Wolves finish 4-11 overall. Both teams have qualified for the NJCAA Region 23 Championship with the Lady Wolves entering as the six seed and will play the three seed Meridian on Thursday, April 10 while the Wolves will be the five seed and will play the four seed Northwest on Thursday, April 24. Both the tournaments will be played at Jones College in Ellisville.
