Volleyball Nets First Commitment in Program History

WESSON – The Co-Lin Volleyball celebrated a historic program milestone with the first commitment for head coach Anna Nelson's squad as Nevaeh Byrge inked to play for the Lady Wolves this upcoming season.

"I'm thrilled to be part of Co-Lin's inaugural volleyball season and can't wait to help build this program from the ground up," said Byrge I'm excited to grow alongside my teammates and contribute to creating something special both on and off the court!"

Byrge, an outside hitter, will be transferring to Co-Lin after spending last season at Division II University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. She played in 14 matches for the Knights this past season and in 27 sets she had 26 kills on 100 total attacks and five aces while accounting for 33 points offensively. Defensively she had 28 digs and five total blocks, one solo and four assists. Nevaeh is a native of Orlando, Florida, where she played at East River High School. In her four-year career there she accumulated 469 kills, 140 aces, 44 blocks, and 375 digs.

"We are so excited to have Nevaeh Byrge join us as the foundation of this program," stated Nelson. "Having her join us as the first Co-Lin Volleyball player coming from Bridgeport is going to be a huge key in our success on and off the court in 2026."

"I chose Co-Lin because it offers the perfect balance of academics, including their strong pre-law program, athletics, and a welcoming community," added Byrge "I'm excited to be part of this upcoming inaugural season!"

"Nevaeh is a versatile hitter that also brings great ball control to the program. She is enthusiastic, hungry, and excited to lay the foundation for the future of this program," said Nelson. "We are excited to see how she will lead this program in the fall with her personality, athletic ability, and love for the sport of volleyball."
