WESSON – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team hosted Northwest Mississippi on Friday, October 1. The Wolves had a dominate showing over the Rangers earning a 3-1 victory.
The first goal for the Wolves came late in the first half as sophomore midfielder Jared Thompson (Hattiesburg) found the back of the net with an assist from freshman forward Hardy Lewis (Brandon) in the 36th minute. The Wolves carried the lead into halftime.
The Wolves wasted little time extending their lead as sophomore midfielder Matt Preston (Manchester, England) scored in the 46th minute and gave the Wolves a 2-0 lead. Freshman defender Eli Harrist (Brandon) scored the Wolves third goal on a header with an assist from freshman midfielder Will Ballenger (Brandon) in the 59th minute giving the Wolves a 3-0 lead.
The lone goal for the Rangers came in the 62nd minute and the Wolves put the clamps down on the Rangers offense to secure the 3-1 victory.
Sophomore goalkeeper Ben Parkinson (Bury, England) made one save on two shots on goal, while freshman goalkeeper Joshua Patton (Jackson) saved one shot on goal during the match.
The Wolves are now 4-4-0 overall and will return to action with a road contest against East Central on Tuesday, October 5. The action on the pitch is set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m.
