Lady Wolves Blitz Lady Stars

EL DORADO, Ark. – The Co-Lin Women's Basketball team took to the road to face off against South Arkansas on Thursday, November 20. The Lady Wolves held the lead wire-to-wire on their way to a 76-47 victory over the Lady Stars.

The Lady Wolves doubled up the Lady Stars, 18-9, in the first quarter to hold a lead by that margin at the end of play. The Lady Wolves then had their best quarter of the game as they outscored the Lady Stars, 23-3, in the second quarter to push their lead to 41-12 as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime.

The Lady Wolves continued to flex their muscles and grow their lead while outscoring the Lady Stars, 22-17, in the third quarter making the score 63-29 heading to the final quarter. The Lady Stars won the fourth quarter, 18-13, but could not overcome the nearly 40-point lead of the Lady Wolves as they secured the 76-47 victory.

The Lady Wolves had five players in double-digit scoring figures as Amari Barnes (Tylertown) led the way with 15 points along with four rebounds, three steals, and one assist while Maddison Mitchell (Baton Rouge, LA) added 13 points with six assists, six steals, and one rebound. Akeelah Hobson (Oakdale, LA) and Kamaiyah Pruitt (Pass Christian) had 12 points each with Hobson adding three assists, three steals, and two rebounds while Pruitt narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Zariah Hatten (Taylorsville) had 10 points with five rebounds and one steal. Tyra Johnson (Morton) flirted with a double-double with six points and nine rebounds while Eymani Key (Lafayette, LA) had three points to round out the scoring for the Lady Wolves.

Co-Lin improves to 7-1 overall and will return to action on the road against LSU-Eunice on Thursday, December 4. Tip-off between the Lady Wolves and the Lady Bengals is set for 5:30 p.m., at the HPRE Center in Eunice.
