Lady Wolves Drop Regular Season Finale

DECATUR – The Co-Lin Women's Basketball team hit the road for the final time in the regular season on Monday, March 2 to face off against East Central. The Lady Warriors beat the Lady Wolves, 47-31.

The teams were even in the first quarter as both scored 16 points each and the game was tied at the end of play. The Lady Warriors then outscored the Lady Wolves, 7-4, in the second half to take a 23-20 lead as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime. The Lady Warriors then outscored the Lady Wolves, 12-7, in the third quarter, and 12-4 in the fourth, to take the game, 47-31.

Tyra Johnson (Morton) led the Lady Wolves with eight points along with six rebounds, one steal and one block while Kamaiyah Pruitt (Pass Christian) and Maddison Mitchell (Baton Rouge, LA) had seven points each with Pruitt adding six rebounds and Mitchell adding four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block. Jalynn Applewhite (Gulfport) and Jamyria Robinson (St. Martin) had three points each while Eymani Key (Lafayette, LA) had two points and Zion Nelson (Byram) had one point to round out the scoring for the Lady Wolves.

Co-Lin finishes the regular season 14-11 overall, 6-8 in MACCC play, and have earned a spot in the Region 23 Playoffs for the first time under head coach Britta Stephens Belanger. The Lady Wolves are the No. 10 seed and will hit the road to face off against the No. 7 seed LSU-Eunice. Tip-off between the Lady Wolves and the Lady Bengals is set for 6 p.m., at the HRPE Center in Eunice.
