Lady Wolves Season Ends in Region 23 Quarterfinals

FULTON – The Co-Lin Women's Basketball team hit the road for the Region 23 Quarterfinals against Itawamba on Saturday, March 7. This was the first appearance in this part of the Region 23 Tournament for the Lady Wolves since the 2021-22 season and the Lady Wolves lost to the Lady Indians, 71-44.

A late run in the first quarter by the Lady Indians combined with cold shooting by the Lady Wolves led to a 20-8 lead for the Lady Indians at the end of play. The Lady Wolves rebounded with better shooting in the second quarter, but were still outscored, 19-14, as the Lady Indians pushed their lead to 39-22 as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime.

The third quarter was the closest of the game as the Lady Indians outscored the Lady Wolves, 17-13, pushing their lead to 56-35 heading into the final quarter of play. In the fourth quarter the Lady Wolves were outscore, 15-9, as the Lady Indians sealed the 71-44 win.

In her final game in a Lady Wolves uniform, Kamaiyah Pruitt (Pass Christian) led the way with a double-double performance of 24 points and 10 rebounds with the points leading all scorers while the rebounds were tied for the game lead.

Maddison Mitchell (Baton Rouge, LA) had six points with six rebounds while Zion Nelson (Byram), Tyra Johnson (Morton), and Jalynn Applewhite (Gulfport) had four points apiece. Eymani Key (Lafayette, LA) had two points to round out the scoring for the Lady Wolves.

Co-Lin finishes the season 15-12 overall.
