Wolves Dominate Warriors in Regular Season Finale

DECATUR – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team took to the road to face off against East Central in the final game of the regular season on Monday, March 2. The Wolves used strong showings on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court on their way to a 77-62 victory.

The Warriors held pace with the Wolves in the first half as they traded baskets and leads throughout. However, the Wolves outscored the Warriors, 35-32, to hold the lead by that margin as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime. In the second half, the Wolves flexed their muscles and held the Warriors to 30 points while adding 42 to their lead to secure the 77-62 win.

Tyrell Bowles (Springdale, MD) had a monster night for the Wolves as he led the way with a double-double including a career high 35 points along with 14 rebounds three assists and one steal. Moustapha Salekh (Ngekoh, Senegal) had 12 points with two rebounds and one steal while LeBron Deal (Monroe, LA) had 11 points with one assist and two steals. Morris Hammond (Ridgeland) had nine points with five rebounds while Dylan Creggett (DeSoto, TX) narrowly missed a double-double with seven points and 11 assists while Tristian Lucas (Pearl) had two points and Caleb Crozier (Yazoo City) had one point to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

Co-Lin finishes the regular season 14-13 overall, 7-7 in MACCC play, and has earned a spot in the Region 23 playoffs. The Wolves will be the No. 11 seed and will hit the road to face off against the No. 6 seeded Wildcats of Pearl River. Tip-off between the Wolves and Wildcats is set for 6:30 p.m., at Marvin R. Coliseum in Poplarville on Thursday, March 5.
