Wolves Upended by Nighthawks

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team continued their non-conference portion of the schedule with a road match against National Park on Wednesday, September 10. The Nighthawks beat the Wolves, 2-1.

The first half saw the teams have some scoring opportunities, but neither could find the back of the net as the match was scoreless at halftime. The Nighthawks quickly got on the board in the second half though as the scored goals in the 50th and 55th minutes to take a 2-0 lead over the Wolves.

The Wolves then cut into the lead midway through the second half as Hudson McIntyre (Brandon) beat the keeper and found the back of the net with an assist from Jaime Duran (Madison) making the score, 2-1, in the 67th minute. The Wolves continued to fight their way back but could not find an equalizer as the Nighthawks held on for the 2-1 win.

Duran saved six of eight shots on goal faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin is now 2-1-0 overall and will return to action hosting Southwest for their home and MACCC opener on Tuesday, September 16. Kickoff between the Wolves and the Bears is set for 7:30 p.m., at Stone Stadium in Wesson.
